Established in 2001, the Dot NAME generic Top-Level Domain is the sole TLD planned for personal websites only. These domain names can be personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other labels people are famous by. At the beginning, solely 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you planned to reserve john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already acquired third-level domain names remained working.

Through our firm, you can order your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will be able to edit the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already purchased domain to our firm if you have its EPP transfer authorization key from the present domain registrar and we will renew it after the transfer has been done. There are no special conditions on who can obtain a dot NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the concept behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.
